Aston Villa and West Brom will lock horns at The Hawthorns on Tuesday night.

Aston Villa supporters on Twitter have defended star man Jed Steer after he was ripped to shreds by former midfielder turned pundit Danny Murphy on TalkSport.
The former Premier League man claimed that Steer was ‘pathetic’ for how he reacted to Dwight Gayle’s apparent lunge at him during Villa’s 2-1 win against Albion in the play-off semi-final on Saturday, as quoted by Birmingham Live.
In the final few minutes of the game, Gayle was attempting to put away a cross, which came in from the right-hand side, but when he went for the ball he seemingly lunged at Steer, who had at this point gathered the ball cleanly.
The Newcastle United loanee was already on a yellow card at this stage and was shown a second yellow and given his marching orders by the referee.
It now means that he won’t be available for the return leg on Tuesday night as Jimmy Shan’s side chase a win. If the Baggies do reach Wembley, he won’t be available for that clash either.
But it is fair to say that Murphy’s comments about Steer didn’t go down well with the Villa supporters who made their feelings clear about him.
Here is a selection of Villa fans on Twitter reacting to Murphy comments:
If Villa can avoid defeat at The Hawthorns then they will be making another trip to Wembley after they were beaten by Fulham last May.
Whichever one of Villa and Albion go through, they will face either Leeds United or Derby County in the final, with Marcelo Bielsa’s side leading that two-legged encounter 1-0 going into the return leg at Elland Road on Wednesday night.
