Aston Villa will be looking to close the gap on Bristol City in the Championship when they take on Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night.

Aston Villa fans on Twitter have urged the team to close the gap on Bristol City after they dropped valuable points at home to bottom-of-the-table Ipswich Town on Tuesday night.
Lee Johnson’s side, who are sitting sixth in the table, are four points ahead of 10th-placed Villa after their 1-1 draw against the relegation-threatened Tractor Boys – Villa travel to eighth-placed Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night.
Three points for either team will prove to be very valuable in their race to earn promotion and it will ensure that someone like Bristol City will continually look over their shoulders because they have a lot of teams chasing them in the race to finish in the top-six.
Villa fans on Twitter stated City dropping points against Paul Lambert’s men was a ‘big result’ for them, but insisted that they have to make it count by claiming all three points against Forest.
While many fans pointed towards the importance of the City Ground clash, others thanked ‘agent Lambert’ for helping his former club in their race for promotion.
Here is a selection of Villa fans on Twitter reacting to Bristol City’s draw:
There is no doubt that this is the last chance saloon for Villa if they are to finish in the Championship’s top-six because more dropped points will only see them fall further away from the promotion race.
Dean Smith’s side will take confidence from these last few weeks after a thumping victory at home to Derby County, which was followed by a 1-0 win against bitter rivals Birmingham City over the weekend.
