Aston Villa lost 2-0 against Newcastle United at St. James’ Park last night.
Aston Villa fans have laid into new signing Birkir Bjarnason on social media website Twitter following his performance against Newcastle United last night.
Bjarnason was selected to start for Villa at St. James’ Park, but he failed to impress.
The Icelandic international had Villa’s two best chances on the night, but he failed to take either of them.
Bjarnason first attempted to direct a volley towards goal after a Scott Hogan flick on, but he put the chance wide, and then he blasted a close range shot straight at Karl Darlow.
And Villa fans already appear to be losing patience in the January signing, with his display failing to catch the eye.
Villa are still yet to win a match in 2017, despite Bruce’s big spending during the last transfer window.
Villa brought in a number of new players, but they appear to have had very little impact so far.
Villa are currently in 17th place in the Championship table – just six points above the drop zone.
