Steve Bruce’s Aston Villa side were beaten by West Ham in pre-season action yesterday.

Andre Green has received rave reviews for his performance for Aston Villa in their friendly against West Ham United last night.
Green has been on the verge of a first-team breakthrough at Villa for some time, but has just not quite been able to force his way into Steve Bruce’s line-up.

And the initial signs that he could head into the new season in good form look good.
Villa were outplayed by West Ham United last night, but Green scored their goal in a 3-1 defeat.
And Villa fans certainly seem to believe that Green can make an impact, if he is given chances by Bruce.
Villa confirmed that Bruce would be in charge for the start of the new season yesterday, after speculation over his future.
The claret and blues are first in action against Hull City in two weekends’ time.
