Aston Villa’s Alan Hutton didn’t cover himself in glory against Norwich City – and Josh Murphy specifically – it has to be said.
Aston Villa right-back Alan Hutton was ripped apart by Norwich City’s Josh Murphy on Saturday – and now he’s enduring the same treatment by fans.
Aston Villa picked up their first win of the Championship season by beating the Canaries 4-2 at Villa Park.
Conor Hourihane, who scored a hat-trick for the Villans, and Andre Green were among the goals on a hugely-positive afternoon for Steve Bruce’s side.
If there was a negative, however, it certainly came in the form of a certain Scotsman.

The 32-year-old endured a torrid time against Murphy, who pulled one back for City to make it 2-1 on the hour mark, and it does not bode well for his first-team prospects for the rest of the campaign.
And plenty of fans of the West Midlands club expressed their frustration with the former Tottenham defender and urged Bruce to sell up in favour of giving James Bree and Richie de Laet more chances.
Villa fans will be hoping that their side can now kick on and begin the long and arduous road to Premier League promotion – a journey which Hutton is unlikely to play a major role in, if this showing was anything to go by.
