Aston Villa are set to face Liverpool at Villa Park in the quarter-finals – but there are some complications.

A number of Aston Villa fans have been commenting on Twitter about the League Cup quarter-final draw, which has put them up against Premier League leaders Liverpool.
Dean Smith’s charges overcame fellow West Midlands side Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday night at Villa Park to reach the last eight of the competition.
The Reds, meanwhile, beat Arsenal 5-4 on penalties after a thrilling 5-5 draw to make the quarter-finals, where they will head to B6 to lock horns with the claret and blue side.
There are some complications regarding when the fixture can be played, however, due to the Champions League holders’ involvement in the FIFA Club World Cup, which falls on the same week as the League Cup quarter-finals as things stand.
“The EFL is in discussions with Liverpool to identify an alternative date given the club’s participation in the FIFA Club World Cup competition,” an EFL spokesman is quoted by BBC Sport as saying.
The same outlet quotes Jurgen Klopp as saying: “If they don’t find a proper date for us then we cannot play the next round and whoever is our opponent will go through – or Arsenal will play it.”
Here is what some Villa fans have been saying on social media regarding the draw – and the slightly complicated scenario involving their opponents:
Elsewhere, holders Manchester City have been drawn away at Oxford United, Colchester United face a trip to five-time winners Manchester United, and Everton will be at home to Leicester City.
