Aston Villa broke their club transfer record to bring in Tyrone Mings from Bournemouth in the summer.

Tyrone Mings of Aston Villa gets tackled by Crystal Palace's Jordan Ayew

Aston Villa fans do not appear to be fussed with having to pay up to £1 million extra for Tyrone Mings, as they still feel that they got a bargain from Bournemouth this summer.

Villa broke their transfer record to bring in Mings, with Dean Smith making the centre-back one of his top targets in pre-season.

Mings has gone on to excel at Villa, and the centre-back was handed his England debut on Monday evening.

The 26-year-old looked at home in the Three Lions’ defence, as they picked up a 6-0 victory over Bulgaria.

It has since emerged in the Telegraph that Villa will have to pay £250,000 to Bournemouth for each of Mings’s first four appearances for his country.

But claret and blues fans still feel that they got huge value for money when they bought Mings this summer.

Mings’s value has sky rocketed now, with the powerful defender impressing in the Premier League and on the international stage.

If Villa were to sell him they would definitely make profit, but Dean Smith’s side will be wanting to keep hold of him for the long-term.

Mings looks set to have a crucial role to play this term, as Villa look to consolidate their position back in the top flight.
