Aston Villa are reportedly set to sign Lovre Kalinic.

The January transfer window is still a couple of weeks away from opening, but Aston Villa appear to be on the verge of completing a signing.
Having seen Orjan Nyland struggle since a move from Ingolstadt and Andre Moreira become a forgotten man, signing a goalkeeper had to be a top priority for boss Dean Smith.
It now seems that Smith is set to bring in a stopper, with The Telegraph reporting that Gent’s Lovre Kalinic is having a medical with Villa today.
The 28-year-old will cost around £7million, and he will finally make a move to Villa more than three years after the club had a work permit turned down for him.
A giant at 6ft 7in tall, Kalinic is Croatia’s first-choice goalkeeper and has 16 caps to his name, whilst at club level he has flourished for Gent since signing from Hajduk Split in 2017.

Kalinic appears to be a coup, and many Villa fans have taken to Twitter to admit that they are happy with the deal, believing that signing him will send Villa to the Premier League.
Most believe Kalinic is quality and represents a real signal of intent, though there are a couple of fans ‘unsure’ about him having seen some foreign goalkeepers flop at Villa Park already.
