The Villa Park ace netted a hat-trick for Scotland in Euro qualifying.

A number of Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to praise John McGinn after he was named in the FUT Team of the Week following his exploits in Scotland’s second Euro 2020 qualifier of the international break.
The Villa Park fan favourite became the first Scotland player to net a first-half hat-trick since Lawrie Reilly in 1952 as Steve Clarke’s charges ran out 6-0 winners over San Marino at Hampden Park in their Group I clash.
Lawrence Shankland and Stuart Findlay also got on the scoresheet, notching up their debut Scotland goals on their first starts and Stuart Armstrong added a sixth via a late free kick to move Scotland up to fourth in Group I, above Kazakhstan who lost at home to Belgium.
Villa proudly announced the accolade for McGinn on Twitter and some fans took the time to congratulate their midfield maestro on the platform:
McGinn joined Villa in the summer of 2018 from Scottish club Hibernian for an undisclosed fee which The Guardian has reported to be £2.7million and, from his 53 claret and blue appearances, the £25,000-per-week ace (Spotrac) has scored 10 goals and weighed in with 11 assists (Transfermarkt).
