Villa have already signed a new goalkeeper this month in Lovre Kalinic.

Aston Villa are reportedly closing in on the free agent signing of Bulgarian goalkeeper Dimitar Sheytanov after his contract expired at Levski Sofia – but Villa fans are not impressed.
Bulgarian outlet Sportal have claimed that Villa are close to completing a move to land the 19-year-old stopper, who certainly has plenty of pedigree and has represented his country at youth level.
Though he failed to make a senior appearance for Levski Sofia, Sheytanov went on trial to Leeds United in the summer after posting on his Twitter account a video of him in goal during a pre-season friendly with the Whites.
The most recent report claims Leeds chose not to pay the fee to sign Sheytanov, and now it seems as though Villa are to land the player on a free – after Sheytanov refused a new deal.
The report also says that Villa have been tracking the teenage goalkeeper for quite some time. But Villa fans do not understand why their club are signing another goalkeeper.

Lovre Kalinic was signed from Gent for the first team, while Jed Steer has been recalled after an injury to Orjan Nyland. Mark Bunn, Andre Moreira and Matija Sarkic are also on the books.
Villa fans have questioned why the club are signing another goalkeeper, while a handful of fans believe it is a good move with Steer and Bunn’s contracts expiring in the summer – and Moreira only on loan.
