Alan Hutton has been linked with a move from Aston Villa to Middlesbrough this month.

Championship heavyweights Middlesbrough are reportedly considering a move for Aston Villa veteran Alan Hutton this month as Tony Pulis looks to add experience to his side – but Villa fans have told the Welsh manager to look elsewhere.
The Daily Mirror claimed in their transfer news blog on Sunday (08:45, January 7) that Boro are interested in the 33-year-old, with less than six months currently remaining on his Villa Park contract.
It could see Bruce consider a sale, by allowing the 50-time Scotland international to leave this month as it would see the Midlands giants receive a fee for the former Tottenham Hotspur and Rangers full-back.

Hutton has been playing on the left side of defence at times this season, being a regular in Bruce’s side by featuring in 18 of Villa’s 22 Championship outings and helping them maintain a push for the top six.
However, the pull of an extended contract at a side that can afford to match his Villa Park wages or go even higher will surely tempt Hutton, as he looks to increase his time in professional football during the latter stages of his career.
But Villa fans have urged their club to block the sale of Hutton, with one fan suggesting Middlesbrough can have Ritchie “De Laet” or James “Bree instead”.
