Whilst Aston Villa were on the receiving end of another humiliating defeat in the Premier League, Cameron Archer was once again on the scoresheet for Preston North End.
The 20-year-old striker is enjoying a fine loan spell with the Championship club after signing on loan in January, with Archer now on four goals for Preston in just seven league games.
The Villa academy graduate has already shown this season his attacking qualities, with the forward bagging four goals in the League Cup against the likes of Chelsea and AFC Barrow.
And now, away from Villa, Archer is once again showing his potential, with the striker starring for Preston in the Championship whilst Steven Gerrard’s side remain winless since late January.
A home game against relegation-threatened Watford presented a golden chance for Villa to secure their first win of the month. However, a 78th-minute Emmanuel Dennis header handed Roy Hodgson his first win as manager of the Hornets.
With Archer bagging again for Preston and Villa now creeping down the Premier League table, supporters were fuming that the 20-year-old was allowed to leave the club given his now obvious scoring qualities.
Aston Villa fans react as Archer stars yet again for Preston

Indeed, Preston have landed a loan bargain in Archer, who has been in stunning form for the club since arriving in the January transfer window. And after Villa’s loss to Watford, fans are desperate for the striker to return.
Here’s what some Villa fans had to say on Twitter about Archer’s latest goal for Preston on a day where Gerrard’s side suffered an embarrassing loss to Watford…
