The Curacao international put in a good performance in the Aston Villa midfield.

Aston Villa picked up a scrappy win in the Championship yesterday afternoon, beating Burton Albion 2-1 at Villa Park.

Ross McCormack’s goal saw Villa win the game after former Villa Park prospect Jamie Ward had equalised for the Brewers with an outstanding bicycle kick.

Leandro Bacuna gave Villa the lead with a pounding header in the 15th minute. The Curacao international is not a regular scorer for Aston Villa, with his last goal for the club coming back in February as Villa lost 2-1 to Stoke City.

But it was not just his goal that caught the eye, as Bacuna put in an excellent performance against Burton.

His energy in the middle of the park proved massive to Steve Bruce’s men and Villa fans were over the moon with his performance.
