Henri Lansbury made his first Championship start of the season as Aston Villa’s campaign ended with a defeat.

Several Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Henri Lansbury’s performance during the Villans’ final day clash with Norwich City – and it appears that most were impressed with the midfielder’s display.
Lansbury has barely been seen this season. He went into the game against the Canaries awaiting his first league start of the campaign, so it may have taken some supporters by surprise when it was announced that he was in the side.
Despite losing to Daniel Farke’s team, it was an encouraging day for the Villans. Dean Smith was able to rest a number of his key players, and it was only a late goal from Mario Vrancic that ensured that they will not go into the play-offs off the back of a 13-match unbeaten run.
Considering that he has not started all season, Lansbury seemed to do extremely well. He has been praised by a large section of the supporters on social media.

He did nothing spectacular, but showed glimpses of his quality. And that seems to have left some fans suggesting that he could still have a role to play during the play-off games – which begin this weekend when Villa face West Brom.
At the very least, Lansbury appears to have shown enough to leave some supporters believing that he can definitely have a future at Villa Park if he can stay fit and build on the promise he showed against his former club.

Here is what some of the fans made of his performance…
