Aston Villa will be looking to maintain their top-six status during these final few weeks of the season.

Aston Villa fans on Twitter lauded Glenn Whelan for his stunning performance for the Republic of Ireland as they beat Georgia 1-0 on Tuesday night.
Mick McCarthy’s side, who beat Gibraltar last Saturday in their opening Euro 2020 qualifier, marinated their 100% record in Dublin with Conor Hourihane netting a delightful free-kick in the first half.
Villa duo Whelan and Hourihane, who have been immense for their club side in recent weeks, started in the middle of the park for their country and they didn’t disappoint.
The Villa Park faithful were quick to recognise the calm performance Whelan produced as he sat in front of the defence and ensured his team kept a valuable clean sheet.
The 35-year-old, who joined Villa for £1 million from Stoke City in 2017 (BBC Sport), has arguably been one of his club’s best players in recent weeks and he transcended that onto the international stage.

Both Whelan and Hourihane will now return to Villa where they will be hoping to help Dean Smith’s side finish in the top-six after four wins on the bounce.
The Midlands outfit, who currently occupy the final playoff spot, host Blackburn Rovers on home soil on Saturday before they take on their former manager Steve Bruce in a weeks time.
