Aston Villa boss Dean Smith finds himself under major pressure right now – and the club have allegedly made a first move for Paulo Fonseca.
Sunday’s 4-1 defeat to West Ham United means Smith has now lost four Premier League games in a row.
Villa have conceded 12 goals in those four defeats, with Smith’s side leaking goals left, right and centre.
Bringing in the likes of Emiliano Buendia, Leon Bailey and Danny Ings hasn’t quite worked for Villa yet, and the next change could be the manager.
The Daily Mail claim that Villa have sounded out Fonseca for a move to Villa Park.
The Portuguese boss is out of work after leaving Roma but was wanted by Villa back in 2018.
That long-standing interest could now lead to Fonseca arriving at Villa if Smith loses his job in the near future.

Villa fans react to Fonseca rumours
Villa fans have been taking to Twitter to react to the rumours, with a real split opinion.
Some feel that sacking Smith would be a terrible decision and that appointing Fonseca would be a huge gamble.
Others think that Fonseca could just be another Remi Garde, saying ‘thanks but no thanks’ to a possible move.
There are a number of fans who do want Fonseca though, claiming they are ‘on their knees’ begging for a deal.
