Jordan Amavi was signed by Aston Villa during the summer of 2015 prior to their relegation to the Championship.

Aston Villa fans on Twitter think Jordan Amavi could return to the club as Marseille have to cut costs after a poor season in Ligue 1.
Sky Sports previously reported that Marseille have offered Kevin Strootman to a number of Premier League clubs because of their financial difficulty and the fact that they have to cut costs.
The news was also reported by Get French Football News about Marseille’s FFP problems, as posted on their official Twitter account:
As a result of that, Villa fans think, including Jack Grealish’s brother, that left-back Amavi, who left the Midlands outfit for the French side in 2017, could make a return.
The Villa Park faithful made it clear that they would welcome back a player who was bought when Tim Sherwood was in charge of the club – just before their relegation to the Championship.
Amavi played the first few months of that season and during his time on the pitch, he impressed many Villa supporters and became a firm fan favourite.
A long term injury ruled him out for the rest of the campaign and in his absence, Villa endured their worst season in their history and dropped down to the second tier of English football for the first time in nearly three decades.

Attack-minded Amavi stayed on at the club and made a return from injury for the following season, but he wasn’t able to replicate the form that won him plaudits during his first few months – he was then sold by then-manager Steve Bruce.
Since leaving, he has gone on to rediscover his form in his home country of France as it seemingly looks like his current club may have to part ways with some of their star players.
