Aston Villa rescued a 3-3 draw with Sheffield United on Friday night, having been 3-0 down at Villa Park.

Villa were turgid for much of the game, falling behind when Billy Sharp’s close-range effort just sneaked over the goal line.

Sharp’s second was controversial as he appeared to kick the ball out of Lovre Kalinic’s hands and into the net, before he popped up at the back post to head home another and grab his hat-trick.

Villa’s fightback started when Tyrone Mings headed home a corner, beating Dean Henderseon to the ball, and Tammy Abraham profited from a Henderson parry to make it 3-2.

In the dying stages, Villa snatched a point as Andre Green headed past Henderson for 3-3, making it three goals in eight minutes for Villa.

Villa fans will have been delighted with the comeback, but one thing they weren’t happy about was the performance of forward Jonathan Kodjia.

The 29-year-old has been linked with a return to former club Angers by Ouest-France, as he’s allegedly unhappy with his playing time at Villa Park.

Kodjia was handed a start on Friday but disappointed massively, leading to some suggesting that Kodjia has already left Villa mentally and doesn’t want to play for the club anymore.

Others called him ‘absolutely awful’ and don’t want to see him in a Villa shirt again, slating his performance.
