Aston Villa fans have been commenting online about the club’s new away kit for 2019-20 and while the shirt itself got a mixed reaction, one aspect of the unveiling was largely met with negative responses.

The sky blue number, which includes the Villa Park gates in the design, was launched at a special Villa party at Brit’s Pub in downtown Minneapolis on Wednesday, as well as online.

It is the second kit reveal of three and will be available to order from 24 July, while Villa’s new home kit went on sale on Wednesday, and the third kit will be available next month.

Villa’s Twitter account made the kit reveal online via a 50-second video and judging by the reaction on the social media platform, many fans were not too impressed with the delivery:

At the end of May, the Villans announced Italian sportswear Kappa as their new principal partner, signing a three-year contract to manufacture the kits.

Kappa takes over from local fashion brand LUKE1977 – owned by boyhood claret and blue Luke Roper – and will work alongside Fanatics to create kits and training wear for all of Villa’s teams.

Villa are currently in Minnesota for pre-season and ran out 3-0 winners over Minnesota United last night, while their first Premier League game of 2019-20 will be away at Tottenham Hotspur.
