Aston Villa take on Reading this evening – but Callum O’Hare may not be involved.

Aston Villa travel to face Reading in the Championship this evening, in what could be a pivotal game for manager Steve Bruce, who is coming under increasing pressure from fans.

Villa drew 1-1 with Hull City on the opening weekend of the Championship season, but were thrashed 3-0 away at Cardiff on Saturday afternoon in a miserable afternoon for Bruce.

Fans are demanding results from Bruce ahead of tonight’s trip to Reading, with some a little frustrated by the lack of creativity in the Villa side – though youngster Callum O’Hare has given Villa a spark in his limited minutes this term.

The 19-year-old playmaker played half an hour against Hull before starting and finishing the Carabao Cup match with Colchester United, earning rave reviews from fans for his performances.

O’Hare looks to be a talent for the future, but rather than give him a chance to feature against Reading, Bruce appears to have overlooked the youngster for the trip to the Madejski Stadium.

O’Hare played 86 minutes in Aston Villa Under-23’s 3-1 win over West Bromwich Albion on Monday night, meaning it’s highly unlikely that he will play any part in tonight’s game against Reading, with fans fuming.

After noticing that O’Hare was in the Under-23 side rather than travelling with the first team, Villa fans took to Twitter to share their dismay at the teenager being left out again, when he could be the spark that Villa need.

Many turned on manager Bruce for being too negative and relying on veteran players rather than giving a chance to O’Hare, claiming it’s a waste of time to have him playing in the Under-23’s when he is ready for first-team action.
