Anwar El Ghazi gave Aston Villa supporters reason for optimism with his performance after coming on on Wednesday.
A number of Aston Villa fans are now convinced that Anwar El Ghazi can be a revelation under Dean Smith after his superb cameo during the Villans’ draw with Nottingham Forest on Wednesday.
In an astonishing game, the points were shared as the two teams played out a 5-5 draw at Villa Park. Smith’s men showed a tremendous amount of spirit to recover from going 2-0 down inside six minutes.
And it appeared that they may have a great chance of winning the game as El Ghazi made the scoreline 5-4 less than 10 minutes after coming off the bench to make only his second appearance since Smith’s appointment.
The winger had not managed to impress the supporters during his first few months on loan. But it appears that the fans are much more excited about his potential after his display against Forest.
As well as scoring the goal, El Ghazi looked lively and caused problems for Aitor Karanka’s side. And that has left plenty of supporters asking whether he should get the chance to start against Middlesbrough at the weekend.
In fact, some believe that the 23-year-old showed with his performance that he has the potential to kick on significantly over the coming months and turn himself into a key player for the Villans.
