The Villa captain scored a superb volley against their fellow Championship playoff hopefuls in March.

Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish has won the award for March’s Championship Goal of the Month, receiving 59 per cent of the public vote for his wonderful volley against Derby County.
Dean Smith’s charges were taking on their fellow playoff hopefuls at Villa Park on 2 March and things were already going to plan for the hosts as they led 3-0 going into first-half injury time.
Then, on the stroke of half time, Glenn Whelan’s corner to the edge of the penalty area found Grealish, who struck a ferocious right-footed volley into the far top corner of the net to send the Villa Park faithful into raptures.
The 23-year-old was making his comeback from a lengthy injury layoff and Villa have not looked back since, their previously inconsistent and frustrating form replaced by an eight-game winning run that has propelled them into playoff contention.
Grealish, who beat off competition from Derby’s Mason Bennett and Norwich City’s Emi Buendia, was praised by Villa’s Twitter account, which posted the news and a picture of their player with the award.
Here is how some Villa fans reacted to the update on the social media platform:
