Much was expected of Josh Onomah when he joined Aston Villa on a season-long loan deal from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2017.

The 20-year-old midfielder was expected to be a key figure in Villa’s quest to finish in the top two of the Championship this season and win automatic promotion to the Premier League.
