The 20-year-old midfielder was expected to be a key figure in Villa’s quest to finish in the top two of the Championship this season and win automatic promotion to the Premier League.
The England Under-21 international had done relatively well in the handful of matches he played in the Premier League for Spurs, and the youngster was expected to kick on at Villa.

Although Onomah, who earns £20,000 per week as salary according to The Daily Star, has shown his talent and quality on occasions, overall the performances of the youngster have not been great.
The 20-year-old has made only 17 starts for Villa in the Championship so far this season, scoring four goals and providing one assist in the process.
Villa fans have not been impressed with Onomah, and it seems that they do not want the Villans to retain his services for the 2018-19 campaign.
Tottenham fans will be interested in what Villa fans think of Onomah, as it gives them a glimpse on whether or not the youngster would be able to be part of the North London club’s plans in the long run.
