The Villa duo are up for April’s Championship Manager and Player of the Month respectively.
Aston Villa are in contention for both of the Championship’s monthly individual awards in April with Dean Smith up for Manager of the Month and Jack Grealish up for Player of the Month.
Smith won the award in March after steering the Villans to a perfect month and he kept up the good work in April, their winning streak stretching to 10 games before a draw away at fellow playoff contenders Leeds United.
Grealish, meanwhile, has continued to be key to Villa’s plans, and his manager’s decision to hand him the armband has reaped dividends as the team is now to contest the playoffs, the 23-year-old grabbing two goals and two assists in April.

Up against Smith are Paul Cook of Wigan Athletic, Graham Potter of Swansea City and Chris Wilder of Sheffield United.
Grealish, meanwhile, faces competition from Jayden Bogle of Derby County, Dwight Gayle of West Bromwich Albion and Daniel James of Swansea City.
The winners will be announced on the morning of Friday 3 May.
