The 20-year-old, recently recalled from his Portsmouth loan, is hoping to become as iconic at the club as Jack Grealish.

Aston Villa winger Andre Green has outlined his desire to become a club icon following his return from Portsmouth and is hoping to continue following in the footsteps of Jack Grealish, who himself benefited from a loan early in his career.
Grealish enjoyed a superb campaign at Notts County in 2013-14, helping the club survive relegation from League One, and since then he has gone on to become indispensable for the Villans as well as becoming a fan favourite.
Green, who like Grealish hails from nearby Solihull, spent the first half of the 2018-19 campaign on loan at Fratton Park, where he claimed an impressive five goals and one assist despite only making 12 appearances, and of those, just two starts.
Last Saturday, the 20-year-old made a return for the Villans in the 2-2 Championship draw with Hull City, coming on in the second half and being given a great reception from the home faithful at Villa Park.
Because Green has already represented two teams this season, he cannot now be loaned to another club, but earlier this week he was given a big vote of confidence by manager Dean Smith, who said he had the right traits to be of use to his parent club this term.
Speaking to the club in a video put up on their Twitter account, Green talked about what his hopes are at Villa and admitted that he looked up to his fellow Silhillian as he came through the ranks and wanted to be like him.

“I’m trying to be where Jack is at the minute,” said Green. “I can feel the love from the Villa fans but I want to be in that bracket of becoming an icon and a legend, that’s what I aspire to be.”
“Jack’s done great. He went to Notts County, I remember that time… he was saying it’s a great decision he made to go there. I wanted to be like him at that point and to know what he’s done and for me to do the same thing, to go out and learn and get valuable minutes… I’m happy I did it.”
