Aston Villa midfielder Conor Hourihane netted his 10th goal of the season yesterday.
Aston Villa fans have urged Steve Bruce to keep picking Conor Hourihane over Henri Lansbury, after his performance last night.
Lansbury was dropped to the substitutes’ bench, with Hourihane restored to Villa’s starting line-up, as they cruised to success over Reading.
Villa won 3-0, with Hourihane netting his 10th goal of the season during the contest.
And claret and blues fans are now hoping that the Republic of Ireland international has a big part to play over the run in.
Hourihane is a player who divides opinion at Villa, with the £3 million signing from Barnsley having taken on criticism over the campaign.
There has been suggestions that Hourihane does not do enough for the team defensively, but he has a happy knack of scoring.
Lansbury, meanwhile, has just one goal to his name – and offers less for the Midlands side in an attacking sense.
Hourihane looks likely to keep his place in Villa’s team at the weekend, when they take on Norwich City.
