The Tottenham Hotspur product has moved to Aston Villa for the season.
Josh Onomah made his first start as an Aston Villa player as Steve Bruce’s side overcame Colchester United in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.
Onomah arrived at Villa Park on a season-long loan from Tottenham Hotspur last week, and made a cameo appearance in the Villans’ 1-1 draw with Hull City on the Championship’s opening day.

But the 20-year-old was given a full 90 minutes to impress in a central role against Colchester, as goals from Scott Hogan and Frankie Kent – who later scored at the right end – saw Villa return from Essex with a 2-1 win.
And he did exactly that, it seems, with Villa fans flocking to social media to praise the Tottenham product’s performance.
Here’s what they’ve been saying:
Onomah will hope to follow in the footsteps of Tottenham teammates Danny Rose and Harry Kane, who each enjoyed spells on loan to Football League clubs earlier in their careers.

The Enfield-born starlet is clearly highly rated by his parent club, who extended his contract to 2021 before sanctioning his move to Aston Villa.
