Aston Villa transfers have been slammed by Sam Allardyce.

Aston Villa fans have been excited about the club’s busy summer in the transfer market, but Sam Allardyce is far from impressed.

Villa have been bringing in a host of players, securing loanees Kortney Hause, Tyrone Mings and Anwar El Ghazi on a permanent basis.

Matt Targett, Bjorn Engels, Ezri Konsa, Jota, Wesley and Trezeguet have arrived too, bolstering Dean Smith’s side with around £100million of reinforcements.

Now, Allardyce has suggested to talkSPORT that Villa are signing too many players, comparing them to the doomed spending sprees of Everton and Fulham in the last two summers.

However, Allardyce is seemingly overlooking the fact that three of those signings were already at the club in the second half of the season, so they won’t face a difficult integration period.

Additionally, two signings – Konsa and Jota – have already worked with Smith at Brentford, so understand his tactics and methods already, which certainly helps when bringing in so many players.

Dean Smith the head coach

Villa are likely to add even more signings yet, and fans have been taking to Twitter to slate Allardyce’s comments about the situation.

Some called him ‘very lazy’ and a ‘moron’ for failing to grasp what Villa are doing in the transfer market, with many acknowledging that they would much rather have Smith in charge than Allardyce, adding that Allardyce appears jealous of such a progressive English manager.
