Aston Villa drew 1-1 at Blackburn Rovers on Saturday evening.

Aston Villa made it five league games without a win on Saturday evening as they drew 1-1 away at Blackburn Rovers, with Conor Hourihane rescuing a point.
Villa went into the game having been thrashed 4-1 at Sheffield United before the international break, and with pressure mounting on Steve Bruce, he needed a positive result.
Blackburn took the lead against Villa though as Bradley Dack pounced to open the scoring with just 14 minutes to play, meaning Bruce was staring down the barrel of another defeat.
However, Conor Hourihane rescued Villa with a superb late free kick, bending the ball into the net to hand Villa a 1-1 draw – but it’s still five league games without a win.
Bruce is under huge scrutiny, and one of his signings is receiving just as much criticism, with goalkeeper Orjan Nyland being slammed by fans on Twitter.
Nyland, 28, joined Villa from Ingolstadt for £1million in August (The Birmingham Mail), giving Bruce options in goal alongside Andre Moreira, with Jed Steer loaned out to Charlton Athletic.

The Norwegian international has emerged as first choice of late, but Villa fans are far from impressed, taking to Twitter to slate their recent signing.
Some compared Nyland unfavourably with Peter Enckelman and Loris Karius, whilst simply claiming he isn’t good enough and shouldn’t be anywhere near a Championship team, with major concerns about his inability – or lack of desire – to come off his line to deal with crosses.
