Aston Villa duo Callum O’Hare and Rushian Hepburn-Murphy praised one another on Twitter following Carlisle United’s 2-2 draw against Cambridge United on Saturday afternoon.

Both players are on loan at the League Two clubs, respectively, with striker Hepburn-Murphy opening the scoring for Cambridge before O’Hare set up two goals to give his side the lead on the stroke of half-time.

The game ended in a score draw when Jabo Ibehre netted for the away team after the break. And after their stunning performances, O’Hare and Hepburn-Murphy sent these messages to one another on their personal Twitter accounts:

In January, Villa opted to send their academy products on loan in order to gain valuable experience so they can better themselves in their quest to break into the senior ranks.

The attack-minded duo have had a taste of first-team football before, but they have struggled to cement down a regular place in the starting XI or even make a constant appearance in the matchday squad.

Either way, the Villa Park faithful will be pretty pleased to see the club’s academy products making a name for themselves in the fourth tier of English football.

It remains to be seen what part they play in Dean Smith’s plans next season because the Midlands outfit still don’t know which division they are going to be playing in.

At this moment in time, Smith’s side are occupying the final playoff spot. Promotion to the Premier League will further decrease O’Hare and Hepburn-Murphy’s chances of playing for Villa next term.

But if they fail in their promotion bid then it won’t be a surprise to see Smith give them a chance to prove their worth because he is known to give youngsters opportunities.
