Aston Villa do not want to sell Emiliano Martinez amid interest from Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur, according to The Athletic.

The report has claimed that at this stage, Villa have no intention of selling Martinez, who is starring for Argentina at the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

The South American giants have reached the final of the World Cup.

Argentina will take on reigning world champions Argentina in the final on Sunday.

Martinez, a former Arsenal goalkeeper who was described asincredible” by Chelsea legend and former Villa coach John Terry on beIN SPORTS (13/12/22 at 9:30 pm), is set to start for Argentina against France.

Earlier this week, well-known and well-respected journalist Dean Jones told Give Me Sport that Martinez is among the goalkeepers that Tottenham are interested in signing and keeping an eye on.

Tottenham are reportedly on the lookout for a long-term successor to Hugo Lloris, who is the number one goalkeeper for France and will play in the final of the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

Could Tottenham Hotspur sign Emiliano Martinez from Aston Villa?

In our opinion, Tottenham Hotspur are unlikely to be able to sign Emiliano Martinez from Aston Villa because he is a former Arsenal goalkeeper.

The Argentine has interest from Juventus, and we do not think that he would make the controversial switch to Arsenal’s bitter North London rivals Tottenham when he could move to the Italian giants.
