Aston Villa’s Diego Carlos has liked Fabrizio Romano’s Instagram post which reports that Sergio Reguilon is set to secure a season-long loan move from Tottenham Hotspur to Manchester United.
The Tottenham defender has been out-of-favour under Ange Postecoglou this season, after his unsuccessful 12 months in the colours of Atlético de Madrid last time out.
Many would have expected Sergio Reguilon to perhaps head back to Spain, but instead, as one door closes for one, in this case Luke Shaw’s injury, another opens for another.
And now, Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United, who have until Friday at midnight, are looking to bring Reguilon through their doors.
The 26-year-old came through the ranks of Real Madrid, before repping the senior team and then making a switch to Spurs in 2020.
But it just didn’t work out in north London for the Spanish star, as he is set to embark on a journey at Manchester United, as Fabrizio Romano’s below Instagram post was liked by Aston Villa defender, Diego Carlos, the duo played together at Sevilla.

Big move for Reguilon
These last few years have seen Reguilon stagnate in his career and not progress during a period where he would have expected to hit his peak years.
But this is his chance to take his career to the next level because it is a step up from Spurs to Manchester United.
Another key thing, from Manchester United’s perspective, is that Reguilon has the experience and that feeling of playing for such a huge club in Real Madrid, as well as playing in the Champions League, so it should be easier settling in at Old Trafford.
