Aston Villa may be looking for one or two additions today.

Aston Villa have done most of their business already this summer, and it’s certainly been a busy summer, as Dean Smith has been able to bring in a whopping 12 new signings.

Villa may still be in the market for a couple of attacking additions yet though, with a winger and a striker wanted, and here are some of the key names in the frame for Villa on deadline day…

Said Benrahma

Villa have been chasing Brentford winger Benrahma for much of the summer, but no deal has been done yet. The Express claim that Villa still hope to get a deal done for the Algerian today, with Smith keen to reunite having worked with him at Brentford last season. A move is thought to still be in the works, and having seen Brentford splash out on Bryan Mbeumo, there’s hope a deal will be sneaked through.

Jean-Kevin Augustin

Villa still want another striker to support Wesley in the final third, and the Birmingham Mail claim that they did hold initial talks with RB Leipzig about Augustin when the two sides met for a pre-season friendly last weekend. Villa allegedly feel the 22-year-old Frenchman – who has hit 20 goals in 67 games for Leipzig – can be signed for a decent price, and the exciting attacker could cap off a superb summer.

Daniel Sturridge

If no striker deal is done by the end of the day, Villa may look to the free agent market. The Daily Mail claim that Sturridge – who hails from Birmingham and spent four years in the Villa ranks – is on Smith’s radar, but a deal may wait until after the transfer deadline. The 29-year-old is available after leaving Liverpool, but it seems that Villa are waiting to see what they can find on deadline day before moving to sign him.

Henri Lansbury

In terms of outgoings, Keinan Davis won’t be going out on loan despite interest, and the same goes for Lansbury. It’s suggested by the Birmingham Mail that Blackburn Rovers want to sign Lansbury today, but Smith wants to keep him at Villa Park, even if he’ll only be cover in midfield. Lovre Kalinic and Birkir Bjarnason are allegedly available, though.
