The Ghanaian former wonderkid is impressed with the current Villa attacker.
Aston Villa’s Jordan Ayew shoots at goal
Aston Villa cult figure Nii Lamptey has been singing the praises of the club’s current Ghanaian star Jordan Ayew this week – as reported by Ghana Soccernet.
Lamptey was considered a wonderkid when he signed for Aston Villa in 1994 but never made the grade at Villa Park.
He believes that Aston Villa’s attacker is currently the best Ghanaian football around and that he will soon work his way up to the top of the game.

Lamptey is quoted by Ghana Soccernet as stating:
“Well for me it’s difficult to mention but I just think that Jordan Ayew is the most talented of all the players we have at the moment.
“He has the ability to do a lot of things and has been very key for Villa though they are struggling at the moment.
“I will not be surprised if he makes it all the way to the top very soon.”
Ayew was one of the only new signings last season to come out of the doomed campaign with any sort of credit. He has also had a good start to the new season, despite continually being played out of position on the wing rather than up front.

He clearly has the talent to be playing in the Premier League and Aston Villa fans will no doubt be hoping that he can take the club there with his performances in the Championship.
However, considering their current position in the second tier, Villa fans will no doubt fear his departure might be imminent.
