Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney is wanted by Aston Villa despite suggestions that he would like to resign for Celtic.
Kieran Tierney could be on the move again in 2024 amid claims that Real Sociedad are unlikely to sign him permanently.
That is according to TEAMtalk, who claim that Tierney is likely to leave Arsenal permanently next summer.
The Scot appeared to be Arsenal’s long-term left back when he arrived from Celtic for £25million back in 2019.
Tierney often impressed for Arsenal but injuries were a problem and Mikel Arteta had a different vision for his left back.
Arteta signed Oleksandr Zinchenko in 2022, moving down the route of bringing his full back into midfield – something Tierney just wasn’t suited to doing.
Kieran Tierney wanted by Aston Villa in 2024
Arsenal allowed Tierney to go out on loan in August, sending him to Arteta’s former club Real Sociedad.
The 26-year-old has only started four La Liga games and one in the Champions League, with his season already hit with another injury problem.
TEAMtalk now claim that Sociedad are unlikely to turn the move permanent, which would see him return to Arsenal next summer.
The report claims that ‘there is a belief’ that Tierney would ideally like to rejoin former club Celtic.

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is a big fan of Tierney from their time together at Parkhead and even called him ‘outstanding’ last season.
Finances will be the big problem though with a fee and wages potentially beyond Celtic right now.
Aston Villa would be interested too and it’s stated that they could do a deal for around £25million.
Unai Emery brought Tierney to Arsenal in 2019 and may see Tierney as a long-term left back for Villa over the likes of Lucas Digne and Alex Moreno.
Arsenal would surely want to cash in on Tierney one way or another, and a move to Villa seems more likely than an emotional return to Celtic as things stand.
