Aston Villa boss Dean Smith might reportedly sanction a loan move away from the club for Keinan Davis.
The 22-year-old has struggled in a big way for Premier League football this season.
So far, Davis, who came through Aston Villa’s academy, has only managed 49 minutes of league action.
He is well behind Ollie Watkins in the pecking order but, with Wesley Moraes still sidelined, the Villans’ boss has had little choice but to use him as Watkins’s deputy.
But according to The Bristol Post, Aston Villa might be willing to let him leave on loan and Bristol City are among the clubs reportedly keen on Davis.
Smith, who once described the young striker as ‘exceptional‘, will certainly have to replace Davis if a loan to the Championship does materialise.
Watkins is bang in form this season, netting eight goals in 18 Premier League outings – including a hat-trick against champions Liverpool – but an injury to him would be detrimental for Smith’s side.
Villa are 10th in the Premier League table, six points behind fourth-placed West Ham.
