Aston Villa could now lose another staff member to Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur could raid Aston Villa again with Frederik Leth potentially following Johan Lange to North London.

Aston Villa could lose another member of staff as Tottenham Hotspur target a move for Frederik Leth.

That is according to Danish magazine Tipsbladet, who claim that Leth could follow Johan Lange to Spurs.

Lange – who was ‘Global Director of Football Development and International Academies’ at Villa – is heading to Tottenham in November.

Tottenham confirmed Lange’s move last week, luring him to North London as the club’s new technical director moving forward.

Tipsbladet now suggest that it is a real ‘possibility’ that fellow Dane Frederik Leth joins Lange at Tottenham.

Leth currently serves as ‘Head of Research’ at Villa and Lange could take him to the capital.

It’s highlighted that the deal isn’t nailed-on right now and it depends on Lange finding a suitable role for Leth at Tottenham.

Maybe Lange will create a similar role for Leth at Spurs but that will have to come with the approval of others like Daniel Levy and Scott Munn.

Tipsbladet note that Lange and Leth have been close for many years now, following each other from club to club.

During Lange’s time as technical director of Danish side FC Copenhagen, Leth was part of the scouting and analysis team there.

Leth briefly took over from Lange at Copenhagen before following him to Aston Villa, taking on that Head of Research role.

The report adds that Leth has been heavily involved in data and analysis over the years and has even been nicknamed ‘The Brain’.

Lange would no doubt love to bring Leth to Tottenham and continue their working relationship, potentially leaving Villa disappointed.
