Aston Villa have significantly strengthened their squad this month.
Aston Villa have confirmed squad numbers for three of their new signings via the club’s official Twitter account.
Birkir Bjarnason, Conor Hourihane and James Bree all arrived at Villa Park in quick succession last week and now fans know what numbers they will be wearing for the rest of the campaign and the foreseeable future.
Bjarnason will wear the number 20 shirt while former Barnsley duo Hourihane and Bree will wear 14 and 16 respectively.
Villa have been busy in the January transfer window and their fans are no doubt happy with the business carried out to date.
There is still time for Villa chairman Tony Xia to seal another deal or two prior to Tuesday’s deadline, but whatever happens the club now have the players needed to push for promotion in the final few months of the campaign.

Hourihane in particular is tipped to have a very bright future in the game and it will be interesting to see if he and his fellow new arrivals hit the ground running.
