The summer transfer window has been a slow burner for many teams across England’s top-flight, including Aston Villa, who are yet to bring a fresh face through the doors.
When a Villa supporter pleaded to the club’s Communications Director, Tommy Jordan, on Twitter to announce some signings, he simply urged him to ‘keep the faith’.
Dean Smith is seemingly hunting for a new striker ahead of the 2020/21 Premier League season, with the likes of Ollie Watkins and Callum Wilson tipped to join the club, as reported by The Daily Mail.
Either one of those players would be very useful to the Midland outfit, who survived relegation on the last day of the season.
It’s not just in attack that Villa need strengthening, but some added experience at the back would be useful for a team that lacked know-how last term.

Added with that, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Villa also push for a winger because Jota hardly featured last season, Anwar El Ghazi struggled for most parts and Trezeguet only came into his own during the final four matches of the season.
Plus, Smith needs Grealish in the middle of the park and if there is enough quality out wide then that would allow him to move into midfield and work his magic.
The preference for Villa would be for the new signings to arrive in time before the season starts, but the most important thing is for the right individuals to be signed up rather than the wrong ones just for the sake of trying to push through a quick deal.
