Aston Villa’s Keith Wyness has commented on Jonathan Kodjia’s future with the club.

Aston Villa chief executive Keith Wyness has told the Daily Mail that the club would consider a ‘ridiculous’ bid for star striker Jonathan Kodjia.
With Villa searching for a leading striker last summer, they forked out a whopping £11million rising to £15million (BBC Sport) to land Kodjia from Championship rivals Bristol City.
The Ivorian international hit 20 goals in 48 games for the Robins last season, and he has built on that with another sensational goalscoring campaign for Villa this term.
Kodjia hit 19 goals in 36 games for Villa this season, and whilst he received criticism for being ‘selfish’ at times, his goalscoring record speaks for itself.

Now one of the top strikers in the Championship, Kodjia may well earn admiring glances from Premier League clubs, though they would have to pay a huge fee given Villa’s outlay less than a year ago.
Kodjia is currently out with a broken ankle, meaning he could miss the start of next season, but Villa fans will also be worried about his future at the club.

Now, Villa chief executive Keith Wyness has told the Daily Mail that Villa would only consider a ‘ridiculous’ bid for Kodjia this summer, and they have yet to receive any offers so far.
Wyness added that he would be ‘very surprised’ if a club offered considerable money for Kodjia given his injury status, but is hoping that he comes back stronger next season.
“If something comes in which is a ridiculous amount then of course, but there’s been no bids, no conversation,” said Wyness. “Given his injury I’d be very surprised if someone takes a chance at that. However he will come back stronger,” he added.
