Manchester United are reportedly on the trail of teenage Aston Villa striker Keinan Davis.

Aston Villa are used to losing their star players at the peak of their powers. Over the last decade, James Milner, Ashley Young, Christian Benteke and Fabian Delph all departed Villa Park for bigger and supposedly better things.

Recent reports, however, have suggested that Villa are in danger of being stripped of their prized asset long before he has unleashed his full potential.

The Sun reported that Manchester United are hoping to replicate the infamous signing of Dwight Yorke in 1998 by nabbing the latest attacking whizzkid to emerge at Aston Villa.

19-year-old Keinan Davis has made rapid progress since moving to the Midland giants from non-league Biggleswade Town back in December 2015 and has exploded onto the first-team stage this season.

Davis (below, left) has just two goals in 10 games for Villa in 2017/18 but has impressed with his aggressive approach and ability to lead the line at such a young age. And the report claims that United are favourites for the teenager’s signature, ahead of both Everton and Arsenal.

Villa’s CEO Keith Wyness, however, has now taken to Twitter to rebuff claims that United have had a £5 million bid rejected for Davis. And the club’s determination to keep hold of his new-found fans favourite has supporters understandably impressed.
