Villa boss Steve Bruce sat down for an exclusive interview with the club’s official YouTube channel, and shared his ambitions for the football club, whilst admitting that he would like to finish his career as a manger in five years time.
The Villans have endured a disappointing campaign in the Championship this season, despite their recent resurgence that has seen them win five of their last six games, and are currently languishing in 12th position in the table, 11 points adrift of the play-off spots.
That recent run of good form has given the Villa fans faint hope that they still have a chance of achieving promotion back to the Premier League this season, but realistically, they will have to wait at least another year.
And Bruce explained to the club’s official YouTube channel how it is his ambition to turn Villa back into a fully establish top seven Premier League side:

“Well in five years time, hopefully I’m retired. Five years at this club would do me fantastic, and we’re back in amongst the Premier League, and back into being amongst it again. I think that’s what we’ve got to try and achieve. It’s going to be very difficult to try and break into the top six or seven of the Premier League. I think that has got to be the aim. So in five years, if Aston Villa are an established Premier League team, then I’d be very happy.”
Bruce’s men face back-to-back home games, following the resumption of Championship action after the two week international break, against Norwich City and Queens Park Rangers respectively, and if they manage a return of six points from the outings, then who knows where they could end up this term.
