Aston Villa have not won a game in the Championship since Boxing Day.
When speaking at his pre-match press conference, Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce discussed his relationship with the club’s owner, and shared his gratitude for Tony Xia’s support throughout what has been a challenging period for the club, as quoted by the Birmingham Mail.

The Villans have slipped down to 14th in the Championship table, 16 points behind sixth placed Sheffield Wednesday, although they do have a game in hand over the Owls.
And Bruce highlighted the importance of sticking together through tough times, when speaking to the media, offering high praise for Xia for the way in which he has stood by both him and his players, as quoted by the Birmingham Mail:

“I appreciate the owner’s support, that’s for sure. The one thing we do need at this club is that togetherness when you’re up against it. Everyone has realised the job we’ve taken on, even though, yes we would like it to instantly happen.”

Xia has taken a very much hands-on approach during his time at Villa Park, and hasn’t always acted in a manner befitting of a football club owner.
And only time will tell if his methods prove to be successful or not.

Villa do have a good opportunity to get back to winning ways, with consecutive home games against Ipswich Town (today) and Barnsley on Tuesday.
And if they are to stand any chance at all of making the play-offs, they will need to go on a five or six game winning run, to at least put some pressure on those above them in the table.
