David Moyes has failed to win any of his first nine Premier League matches in charge of Sunderland.
Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce has told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, which was broadcast on TalkSPORT on 25th October, that he hopes Sunderland give David Moyes time to get things right.
Moyes is currently the bookies’ favourite to be the next Premier League manager to lose his job, after making a disastrous start at the Stadium of Light.
Sunderland have failed to win any of their first nine league matches under the guidance of the former Manchester United boss.
However, Bruce has backed Moyes to turn things around for the Black Cats, if he is given time.
“I hope they give Moyes a chance,” Bruce, who managed Sunderland between 2009 and 2011, said. “Surely they can’t keep getting rid of managers? It needs a bit of stability.
“Moyes is a very talented and good manager, they have a good fella in charge and they should give him a bit of time and see if he can turn things around.”
Sunderland are already five points adrift of safety, and there are a growing number of supporters calling for Moyes to be sacked.
However, the Telegraph have suggested that Sunderland have no plans to sack Moyes, as they want him to be at the club for the long-term.
Sunderland are next in action tomorrow evening, when they take on Southampton in the EFL Cup at St. Mary’s.
