Aston Villa defender Neil Taylor is set to come in to replace the injured Alan Hutton.
Alan Hutton is set to be out with injury for a considerable amount of time, but Bruce has a ready-made replacement in Taylor.
The Welsh international is a highly experienced player, and is a quality option for the Championship.
And Bruce admits that he feels fortunate to have Taylor as a part of his squad.
“Alan Hutton has pulled a hamstring but luckily I’ve got Neil Taylor. It’s a squad game and I’ve used something like 36 players,” Bruce said.
“We’ve had problems to deal with so hopefully we don’t get anymore. Hopefully we get a few on the mend this week. That will help us.”
Taylor started this season in Villa’s first-team, but he has been dropped more recently.
Hutton’s strong run of form had seen him establish himself as Villa’s first choice left-back, but the Scot could now miss a crucial stage of the season.
Villa beat Sheffield Wednesday 4-2 at the weekend to give their promotion hopes a further boost.
Bruce’s side are currently in third place in the Championship table, just four points away from the automatic promotion spots.
