Aston Villa have managed to win just one Championship match so far this season.

Aston Villa boss Roberto Di Matteo has insisted to the Express and Star that he does not feel under pressure from chairman Tony Xia.
Di Matteo revealed earlier in the week that he has been in contact with Xia recently, with Villa’s results being disappointing.
However, the Italian boss insists that he is not fearing for his job – despite reports in the Guardian suggesting that he could be sacked if Villa fail to beat Preston North End in their next fixture.
“I’m under pressure to deliver results and the team is under pressure to deliver results,” said Di Matteo.

“Everybody at the club is in full support of the team, myself and the management team because we all want the same.
“I don’t feel under pressure from the chairman or the club at all. I feel the pressure of delivering results and so do the players.”
Xia has been supportive of Di Matteo in his public statements on social media website Twitter throughout the week.

However, there is a realisation that Villa need to start improving if they are to live up expectations.
The Claret and Blues went into the season as one of the favourites for promotion, but they are already playing catch up after winning just one of their first nine league matches.
Villa have thrown away 11 points from winning positions, and unless they can find a way to start getting over the line in matches, this campaign could turn out to be a major disappointment.
