Roberto Di Matteo has told Aston Villa’s official website that Aaron Tshibola is ready to be called up to the first-team again.

Tshibola was brought to Villa from Reading and he made a positive initial impression at the Midlands club.

However, injury curtailed the 21-year-old’s progress and he has now not been seen for over a month.

Tshibola is now back in training, and Di Matteo has hinted that the midfielder could come back into his thinking very soon.

“He’s ready,” the Italian boss said. “He hasn’t got enough minutes in his legs. He’s available for selection.”

Tshibola’s return to Villa’s first-team will be a major boost for Di Matteo’s side.

The Villans have struggled for victories so far this term, and have won just one of their first eight matches.

Villa have looked short of options in central midfield, meaning Tshibola’s comeback could be crucial to their form improving.

Villa are next in action against Newcastle United at the weekend.
