Aston Villa manager Dean Smith has spoken highly of Chelsea-owned striker Tammy Abraham to The Birmingham Mail.

Abraham, who joined Villa on loan from Premier League club Chelsea in the summer transfer window when Steve Bruce was in charge of the Championship outfit, has scored 10 goals and provided one assist in 13 Championship appearances for the Villans so far this season, according to WhoScored.

Four of those goals came against Nottingham Forest in the 5-5 draw at Villa Park in the Championship on Wednesday evening.

Villa manager Smith has spoken highly of Abraham- who earns £50,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac.com.

Smith told The Birmingham Mail about Abraham: “I’m really pleased for him. I think that’s seven goals for him, in the seven games since I’ve been in charge.

“He’s had a lot of chances, he creates a lot of chances himself as well. Great work ethic, great quality, but he’ll be the first to admit that some of the balls put into him have been outstanding.”

Important figure

Abraham has been scoring goals quite regularly for Villa in recent weeks and has established himself as an important player in Smith’s team.

The 21-year-old striker, who spent the 2017-18 season on loan at Swansea City from Chelsea, is going to be hugely important for the Villans’ in their quest to win promotion from the Championship to the Premier League at the end of the season.
