Aston Villa are set to take on Birmingham City at the weekend.

Dean Smith has admitted to Aston Villa’s Youtube channel that he has a team selection problem ahead of his side’s match with Birmingham City.

Villa are set to take on Birmingham on Sunday, in what looks set to be a fiercely contested Midlands derby.

Villa go into the game on the back of a 3-0 victory over Derby County in their last match before the international break.

And Smith admits that picking a team is proving to be very difficult, as Villa have so many attacking options.

Smith said: “The starting 11 at Derby did well, but we had the impact from the bench as well.

“Yannick Bolasie came on and produced a superb ball for John McGinn’s first-goal and when you have players pushing to get on the pitch like that it gives myself a really good problem to have.”

Bolasie is yet to make a start for Villa since he arrived on loan from Everton in the summer transfer window.

The tricky winger has been struggling for fitness since he first arrived, but he seems to be getting back to full match sharpness now.

If Bolasie is given the nod for Villa then he could prove to be dangerous to Birmingham.

At his best, the Democratic Republic of Congo international is a game-changer and he could help Villa become an even more threatening prospect for the remainder of the season.
