Matt Targett made his full Premier League debut for Aston Villa today.

Dean Smith has told Aston Villa’s YouTube channel that Matt Targett might be injured again.
The former Southampton left-back made his Premier League debut for the Villans in this afternoon’s 2-2 draw with Burnley.
But it was short-lived for the 24-year-old, who was withdrawn after an hour by Aston Villa boss Smith.
A hamstring problem meant that it’s been a frustrating start to life in the West Midlands for Targett – who cost £17 million during the summer [The Telegraph] – and Smith has revealed that the same issue on the opposite leg hindered him today.
He told Aston Villa’s YouTube channel: “I thought Matt Targett played really well. He felt his other hamstring. We’re hoping it’s cramp more than anything else.
“We knew it was a gamble playing him two games on the spin.”
Aston Villa twice conceded the lead this afternoon and the result, combined with Targett’s potential injury, means it’s not been a great day for the club.
Smith’s side remain 18th in the Premier League table, but Villa, who were also in winning positions against Tottenham and Arsenal this season, have shown that they can at least compete with top sides. It’s their game management more than anything else which is letting them down right now.
